Final Cut Pro (FCP) Object Tracker (track an image)

Got a couple of questions.

My first question is a frustrating problem I'm having with Final Cut Pro. I understand how to create a tracker and have done this many times over. After clicking "Analyze" I have to wait a long time for the analysis to complete. This is fine. But, if I CLOSE Final Cut Pro the the tracker I JUST created is gone and I have to repeat the process over gain. I've had to add the tracker and analyze three times now. Because it takes 5 to 10 minutes for the analysis to complete and there seems to be no reasonable way to SAVE the analysis - I'm extremely frustrated over this.

My second question is HOW do I attach an object to the tracker? I am NOT gabbing a title. I am using an image that I've imported to FCP. I JUST need to attach the image to the tracker - somehow.

I'm using a 2015 MBP with macOS Monterey 12.7.6

I'm using Final Cut Pro version 10.6.8

I don't know why the tracker is disappearing. In addition to the good advice by LocaAlicia, you may want to delete the preferences - always one of the first things to try when the application is not behaving correctly. To delete preferences, hold down command and option while starting the application and click Delete Custom Settings. The application will start with default settings and open an "Untitled" library. Adjust the settings, reopen the library you were working, and see how it works now.

Regarding assigning an object to a tracker: select the Transform tool in the Viewer, and click on Tracker, then choose the desired tracker from the popup.
