iPod Shuffle Connectivity and Freezing Issues

I recently received an iPod shuffle and am having multiple issues with it. I have contacted Apple Support, and it still will not work.


I downloaded Apple Devices on my laptop to hopefully restore the device, but the iPod will not connect to the app whenever it is plugged in. I have also tried plugging it in and opening iTunes. This does not work, as iTunes either refuses to load or freezes when I connect the iPod. It was new, never been opened, and fresh out of the box, yet there are many issues. I'm not sure if they are due to the age or if these are fixable issues.


If anyone could help or needs more information, please let me know, as I would love to get this fixed pretty soon!
