Roaming network mixing brands
I have an Archer AXE95, and 3 airport extremes (802.11ac) to network my 1400 sq ft. home. I am planning to make a roaming network with Ethernet linking all 4 devices. My earlier network with a couple of airports didn’t have the coverage or consistency I hoped for. I guess there are too many walls and other obstacles.
Is this configuration the best?
—Modem (cable) to Archer (assigning IP addresses)
—Archer to Airport 1 (bridge mode)
—Airport 1 to 2 and 2 to 3
I also have a 5 port switch I can use.
I assume having the newer device do the thinking (DHCP) is best, right?
Is it better to use the switch to have them in parallel rather than series?
thanks!
