Mail Notifications Broken on iOS 18.2?

18.3 didn't fix it. I've also done a hard reset. My issue seems to be a little different. I get the audio alerts, but the e-mail doesn't pop up on my lock screen as it should (and, yes, I have checked the settings). I really wish the folks at Apple would figure this issue out and fix it once and for all. This is getting ridiculous.

It is only on my iPhone that the email sound notification is not working, I lost the sound notifications after iOS 18 update but it came back for a few weeks, I then lost it again after the after the last 18.3 update. I get the sound notifications on my Mac and iPad just fine. This is very frustrating!!!

Thank you so much for this! It has been driving me crazy. Badge would tell me 4 new messages, but none were indicated in the accounts. Switched them all to "list view" and lo and behold, the account I haven't used in months has 4 messages that fell into one of those categories that didn't show. Geez!

I do not and have not used icloud for mail on my phone. Having it on or off does not fix the issue as it occurred for me right after the first 18 IOS update. I have made a post yesterday sharing my discussions with Apple yesterday about the problem.

Apple are totally complacent , always fixing stuff that isn't broken and breaking stuff they can't fix. This email crap is costing me and god knows how many money in missed emails . Android is looking the next step. Apple technology leader my arse!

Notification badges are no longer accurate and are virtually worthless.

I have 12 unread emails, yet the badge shows one. Scrabble has no badges, yet four pending games. Outlook shows four open items—the only one that’s correct.

Seriously, Apple is playing such games when I went to the genius bar and told them that I was having the issue with the no sound the genius told me yeah it’s even happening to her phone so when I follow up and call up Apple support they make like they don’t even know what I’m talking about. I think I’m done with Apple. It cost too much money to get jerked around.

ios 18.3.1 no mail notifications for my dad’s phone… he is 91 I tried everything… but move to an android phone. Incredible that after an update I should spend hours trying to solve a problem that should not be there. Terrible interface design, feature focused without regard for usability.

Many of us do not want notifications for the primary mailbox which is every email that comes through. Alerts are setup for VIP and they're not displaying on the lock screen just buzzing the phone or making the audible tone.

Loss of email notification sounds persists in iOS 18.3.2. All “Customize Notifications” settings are correct. I tried deleting Mail app, rebooting the iPhone, then reinstalling Mail app, deleting and setting up Gmail again. No effect.

This repeating pattern of loss of core functionality in iOS updates is unacceptable. Recall the problem with custom ring/notification tones when iOS 17 was introduced. Why is software validation not rigorous enough to find these rather basic faults?

This worked for my but oh boy am I mad. The fact that Apple decided to seemingly trim off mail notifications for all of us experiencing this is infuriating with a setting buried deem in the menus. I genuinely considered swapping off iOS because I thought it was broken beyond repair.

This is unacceptable Apple. Your software is still broken, just not in the way I thought. Software quality walked off a cliff in the past few years.

Also broken on 18.3.2. I tried, in vain, many of the suggestions that worked for others.

Also, the new interface ,, I have to specifically go to settings to turn off contact photos which take a ton of space on my screen. I also now need to swipe and select in order to delete a message - Thrash button is gone!

Really, Apple developers?
