Mail merge photos from Numbers data base

I need to include pictures to individual mail merges. I have imported the photos into "media" and they show up correctly by the person's name on the numbers database. However when I try to mail merge the photo to the document record (directory) it will not show up. This is an important part of the directory I'm working on. Any suggestions?
