Might have accidentally hit the side button. Some cases may make that easier than it should be to do.

Your phone should not lock if you are actively using it. If you are just looking at it and not touching it the screen will dim a few seconds before it locks, and if you touch it that will reset the lock timer.
You can also set the delay before it locks in Settings/Display & Brightness/Auto-Lock. But note that if you have Low Power Mode enabled it will be fixed at 30 seconds.
Actually, the question is here. I’m using it, and sometimes it would suddenly turn off the screen and lock. What’s the problem of my phone?
