Moving files from Recents to Documents

Used Migration Assistant for new iMac and all files are now in Recents….not Documents on the computer. How do I safely move them.

You did not explain the Migration Assistant method that you used. The fastest, most reliable and easiest method is to simply connect the old Mac's Time Machine External Hard Disk to the new Mac and migrate from there. That is what you should have done.

By the way, Recent's is just a placeholder. If you look at where each of the documents in the Recents folder actually resides they are almost certainly in the Documents folder somewhere.
