I get an error message saying my hard drive requires too much power. It is plugged in with the iPad charger that came with my iPad. I have a 9th edition iPad.
sometimes it works for 30 seconds but then the error message pops up again and I’m back to square one.
can you help please,

the port of ipads can't really provide enough power to power external harddrives that require powers over the USB cable, you will likely need to put a USB hub that is ac powered in between to make it work
I get that. The lightening to usb3 adapter has the charger plugged into it supplying power.
