Battery Completely drained out 2019 Macbook pro touch bar it was never opened since I bought it 4 years ago

I bought a 2019 MacBook Pro with a Touch Bar in 2020 but never used it. The battery is now completely drained, and it won't turn on even after charging overnight. The screen stays black. How can I fix this? I am trying to use it after 4 years, Today is Nov, 2024.

That deeply discharged battery may need some tlc before it revives.

The SMC is responsible for managing power on your Mac. Resetting it can resolve certain uncommon issues related to power or thermal management.

Resetting the SMC may be suggested for Intel-based Mac computers as a final step to resolve issues that could be power related:

•Battery isn't charging

•Mac isn't turning on

•Fans are running fast

•Mac laptop computer gets too warm

•Built-in camera isn't working

If your Mac is experiencing one of these issues, follow the steps appropriate for your Mac model:

How to Reset the SMC of your Mac - Apple Support

Batteries chemically degrade over time even when not being used (and actually can do that more when not being kept charged), so sitting idle for four years your battery may well have failed. If resetting the SMC, as D.I. suggested, and confirming that the charger is working doesn't help, then the battery may well have failed and will need to be replaced. Take the Mac to an Apple Store or authorized Apple service center for a diagnosis.

Regards.
