Adding music to Windows Apple Music from a CD - now impossible?

So I followed the instructions here on another thread to add music - I can rip the CD (using iTunes - which is now crippled, sigh) but I can't get the music over to Apple Music (because I ripped to the Apple lossless? I dunno, but it doesn't work either copied to the music library nor dragged and dropped over).

I realize physical media is dead, and I'd honestly have bought this in digital if the album was available (it's not and never will be) but it's frustrating beyond believe that iTunes on Windows is so crippled (and Apple Music is worthless) that this is impossible now. Any other ideas on how to accomplish this? (I'm going to try another computer I have with an older version of iTunes just in case).
