Everything transferred just fine onto my. new MacBook Air. My regular sign in is just fine. however when I wanted to update the OS, it required the admin id and password. The id came up but when I typed in my known password, it was not accepted.

UPDATE**
I had kept my old MacBook Air as it was 10 years old and I wasn't able to trade it in. I was able to change my administrator password on my old Mac. This seems to have solved the problem. I wasn't able to change the admin password on the new Mac. I love the new MacBook Air and when I'm fully comfortable that I can wipe my old MacBook, I'll do so.
