I suddenly cannot backup to iCloud from iPhone and iPad
I have a huge amount of space available on iCloud. I updated IOS to 18.1.1 but it didn’t work. I only get a message - unable to complete- each time I try. What can be done?

I have the same problem as you! Glad to see I’m not alone my last successful backup was November 18. iOS 18.1.1 and iPadOS must’ve be the culprit. Same issue of heading back up now but after a few seconds, it just says it can’t be completed. Also I have plenty of iCloud storage as I pay for it.

This was a sudden occurrence after never having a problem before. I can’t figure out how to fix this
Hello.
Have rebooted both iPad and iPhone 5 times today without success and used different WiFi connections.
Problem isn’t the iCloud itself? I have about 45 GB available.
is there anything to be done?
Hello everyone. I wrote yesterday that I believe the solution of the support was to essentially delete the choice to backup the device to iCloud and then reinstate the backing up on the device. It took 45 minutes to get to the solution
Hello~ Absent of a forced restart …can’t think of anything else except contacting Apple Support. Go to lower left and click on the small Support icon or…

I believe the solution was essentially deleting the choice to backup completely on the iOS device and then reinstating it
I'm on the phone right now and guess the issue is pretty new, so they're unaware. The person seems to think that iCloud backs up the whole device (50GB) when iCloud backups aren't always the entire device. My says the backup size is 1.8 GB. What did they have you do?
Thanks for the update sorry it’s my first time here and I find people posts go all over the place. I have a call back tonight so I’m waiting cause they had me submit a bunch of info for troubleshooting and don’t want to mess anything up for the techs. It’s so scary to delete your backup when you don’t know if it’s going backup lol
Cale-97 hello. I would definitely have the Apple Support do the necessary work together with you and not try anything alone. You don’t delete any of your backups at all- just the Apple device line showing that you have backed up the device. Then they show how to get it back again. Good luck

Are you using a VPN? Are you connected to WiFi? Try a different cable?
~Katana-San~
I don’t use VPN
Hello each time I try to backup it connects than several seconds later stops and writes that the backup cannot be completed. Strange isn’t it?
Apple service solved the complicated issue. Call them
So what was the solution?
