Problems with Carplay since ios 18 release

Hello -

I have been having issues with my phone and my car's phone capabilities since ios 18.

I have a iPhone 15 Pro Max.

For me, BEFORE ios 18, when my phone was plugged into my car through a USB cable,

• my phone calls would work, although people would say that I sounded like I was in a tin can.
• I could hear my messages that were sent to me.
• I could send messages without any issues.

Now, after I have upgraded to iOS 18+ and when my phone is plugged into my car through a USB cable:

• Nobody can hear me during a phone call or they say I am barely heard.
• When I attempt to listen to messages, my car endeavors to play my messages, but nothing is heard, and the volume is up on my phone and car. The car displays the options to replay Reply, Call, Read Again, but nothing happens.
• When I try to send messages, I click on the Send Message option to someone new, or click on a person's name to send a message, the Siri symbol/graphic appears but nothing happens. No noise, no indication that she is ready, and when I speak to attempt to send a message, no response from Carplay. It just sits there for about 30 seconds and then it cancels itself.

I have rebooted my phone, and that helps for that moment. And the next day, it's back to having issues.

And this all started with ios 18.
