i have optimised my battery to stop at 80% but it seems to reset at night and carry on all the way to 100%. Have charged all the recommended trahie shooting seton such as location.
It’s a month old IPad Air.

Please clarify your iPad model.
Not all models of iPad can limit battery charging to 80% of maximum; of those that do support this feature, the iPad will still occasionally fully charge to 100% to both maintain the battery's health and calibrate the charging algorithm.
Regardless of iPad model, ensure that you have updated to the most recent version of iPadOS supported by your iPad.
The iPad Air M2 does support limiting standard charging to 80% of maximum - but will, as already described, occasionally fully charge to 100% to calibrate the battery charging process.
Have you updated your iPad to the most recent version of iPadOS - at time of writing, this being iPadOS 18.1? Please confirm that you are not experimenting with a beta version of iPadOS.

Hi, no I've not updated to 18.1 as I believe this has not been fully rolled out?
iPadOS 18.1 is current for all models of iPad that support iPadOS 18.x - including iPad Pro M4 and iPad Air M2.
