iMessage with my number

somebody appearently sent very offensive messages and it looks like it was an imessage from my phone number, but i never sent an imessage and i even have my screen time in settings to prove that i was not using my phone or my laptop with the same apple id. all i have is a screenshot and a screen recording saying it was my number...what should i do and do i involve the police because it looks terrible and could harm my reputation/career
