Transferring RAW photo from iPhone to macbook

I am not being able to transfer RAW photos on my iPhone 16 to my macbook through iPhotos. The import is not working.

Hi there,

Sorry you’re having. I’ll try to help figure this out. A few quick questions:

  1. Are you using iCloud Photos? If so, your RAW files might be stored as optimized versions on your iPhone, and you’d need to download the full-resolution versions before transferring.
  2. Are you connecting your iPhone to your MacBook with a cable, or are you trying to import wirelessly? If it’s via cable, is everything updated to the latest software?
  3. Which app are you using on your MacBook to import—Photos or something else? Sometimes third-party apps handle RAW files better than the built-in Photos app.
  4. Have you tried AirDropping a RAW file directly to your MacBook? That can sometimes bypass any issues with the Photos import process.

Let me know what you’ve already tried, and we can go from there!
