Switch from POP to imap 14 pro
I am running 17.6.1. Using Comcast on Mail. I think I need to switch from Pop mail to imap but can’t find clear instructions. Comcast is unable to help. Thanks.

To check if is it a POP account, go to Settings > Mail > Accounts > [name of account]. You will see it say "POP ACCOUNT INFORMATION" if it is set up as POP.
You will need to delete the account on your phone and set it up again.
By default, usually the mail accounts are set up as IMAP, but if you find that it always sets it up as POP, then the trick is to do this. When setting it up, enter the wrong password on purpose, then it will say it failed, but will give you the options on the top of the screen to choose POP or IMAP. After you make the correct choice, enter the correct password.
You can set up the new mailbox first and give it a different mailbox name to make sure that the emails you want are available there. For any emails that are only seen in the old mailbox, you can move them to the new one. After you have verified you have all the emails you need in the new mailbox, you can delete the old one.
When you do add the new mailbox, it will download all emails that are on the Comcast server. There may be many that you will need to go through and delete again if they were not deleted off the Comcast server.
Thanks. I’m afraid of losing a lot of emails, but your suggestion doesn’t sound too drastic. I’ll let you know!
