Saved passwords missing after migration from old to new Mac with Sonoma 14.7

i recently used migration assistant to transfer from my old macbook pro to my new one with Sonoma 14.7, but none of my saved passwords made it to the new computer; did i do something wrong?

i have had to re-enter all my previously saved passwords, and those are now the only ones in the password file.

As I understand it, Keychain has separate passwords for different accounts (users). When you first began setting up your new computer you had to create a new account. Then Migration Assistant transfers your 'other' accounts. Now you ned to tell System Settings which account to use when signing in. If you sign in to the transferred user account I am sure that you will be able to access the original Keychain.

Incidentally, I keep an Excel spreadsheet which I print and which has every website, their ID or user names and each associated password. When I add or change a password, the spreadsheet is immediately updated. The spreadsheet is also password protected so no-one else can open it. This has saved me a lot of time when there is a question about any password since I use vary many of them.
