Glitch with Photos - adding face markers and cannot move the marker

When adding a face marker(?) to a photo it appears in the centre of the image, but when dragging to a new location it moves a thumbnail of the whole image and not the marker; I've discovered that to overcome this you have to resize the image but only using the slider, then the marker will become selected and can be moved/resized: this is not ideal, because the procedure will have to be repeated on every new photo.

This should be a matter for Apple techs to remedy for a new OS update release. I'm using 15.1 Sequoia and Photos 10.0

I also had a fairly major database corruption issue when updating my System photo gallery from a previous version to the latest - it renamed quite a few faces - it looked like it mixed up various related names from the former metadata database to the new one?

I have been advised that the face recognition feature is rather hokey and I should be adding tags for names to each image?

Thus problem has been around for several years. When that happens, I am clicking somewhere into the background outside the face to bring the focus back to the Info. Usually I can then adjust the faces circle. Or I type the name into the name tag of the photo while it is still in the wrong position. Then I can also drag the faces circle to the correct face.

When all fails, I restart the Mac. See: Work-Around: What to do, when the Faces Circle is jumping around - Apple Community
