How do you sync Shazam on Apple Watch with iPhone and Spotify?

I am a long time Shazam user and Apple expert but I am lost, angry and frustrated. The Shazam to Spotify playlist pipeline used to work very well and reliably. More recently it does not work well at all. If I tag 10 songs in my watch, I might see 3 of them make it to the Shazam history on my phone. From there I might see 1 song show up in the Spotify playlist. So that’s 9 out of 10 tagged songs lost.

I have tried disabling iCloud sync as it has been suggested there’s some issue with end to end encryption. This made the problem worse. Now all my tags are stuck in the Apple Watch. I have read all the documentation. I have read all the community threads. I don’t want to hear another canned apple response. I want a solution.

SO: What is the proper way to have songs that I tag with Shazam on my Apple Watch synchronize with my iPhone and automatically populate a playlist in Spotify? I’ve followed all

the documented steps and it doesn’t work.
