Why does Siri stop music on my AirPods Pro?

Since the most recent update, every time I use Siri for anything on my AirPod Pro’s the music stops and doesn’t start back up until I physically press play. It’s not just with notifications which I want to keep on. It does it even when I say “Siri, skip this song”. It will skip and play about a half second of the next song and then just stop. It’s getting really annoying to have to keep pressing play again after notifications or anything dealing with Siri.
