Apple Care+ start date issue

Hey, I ordered a new Macbook Pro M4 Max on the 30th October 2024 plus the Apple Care+ coverage. They shipped my order on the 5th November and it was delivered on 12th November. When my mac was shipped they automatically activated the Apple Care+. So the Apple Care start date is 5th Nov and it ends on 4th Nov 2027. It's a bit annoying that the coverage does not start on the delivery date. I called the Apple Support and after 15 minutes call they told me nobody can change the coverage end date.

The only solution is to ship back my order and buy the same at local store.

That means it makes no sense to pre-order Macbooks if you plan to buy Apple Care+ because you will always loose few days if your shipment is delayed. My friend ordered a new Mac Mini M4 Pro and his estimated delivery date is in over a month! Does that mean he will loose one month of a coverage?

Seriously Apple?

I'm very disappointed and confused.
