Youtube starts playing in random moments after upgrade to iOS 18.1

So - i upgraded recently - and from time to time my youtube app wakes up and starts playing something.

Even though I see the playback control on my lock screen it does not show what is being played and pause button does nothing. Opening youtube app also does not show any playback - only when I swipe the app and close it it stops playing.

It does not happen often, I have no idea how it is triggered - most of the times the phone sits idle on the stand. Any ideas?

I have the exact same issue. This happens during the work day during presentations and meetings. A random video I have never watched before will start playing out loud. There needs to be a fix for this quick as it is embarrassing and distruptive.

I have this same problem, infact it has been coming on and off since almost 1 year, but ever since iOS 18.1 its happening more frequently.

It can be extremely embarrassing, I had it randomly start playing when in meeting rooms at work, or in an elevator, or sometimes walking in the street. Very embarrassing and not acceptable to have a bug like this. Also tells me iOS is not so secure if it allows a program to run itself this way in the background without actually being loaded up.

it also plays random stuff, that's not on my playlist
