Gmail not activating on my iPad Pro

I hve just bought a new Generation iPad and am struggling to activate my Gmail accounts on it. Every time I try, I get into an endless loop, with Google requests to validate my identity that go nowhere. Apple support say it’s a Google issue that they can’t fix and one senior advisor told me a lot of other Apple users have complained about the same issue. Does anyone know of a fix to the problem?

Perhaps you may try and use the Gmail iPadOS app

to access Google Mail & maybe Accounts from there.

An older iPad has vintage GMail App; newer iPhone

has newer-ish iOS app. (iPad did not have iPadOS.)

This will see updates, either from google or maybe apple.

Mine sees both; if I go looking. One may hold precedents.

(And Apple Mail has some great features; but never used it.)
