Mac mini M4 display / monitor compatibility with docking station.

Hello everyone,

I recently purchased my first Mac device, and I’m thoroughly enjoying the seamless integration with my iPhone. Before the Mac mini, I was using a Windows laptop with two monitors (one from Dell and the other from Acer) connected to a Dell D6000 Docking station to provide two additional displays. However, I was disappointed when I plugged the docking station into my Mac mini and discovered that the displays no longer worked. I’m hoping someone can provide some guidance to help me resolve this issue.

Here’s a breakdown of how everything is connected when both monitors work with my laptop setup:

- One monitor is connected to the docking station using an HDMI cable.

- The other monitor is connected to the docking station using a Display cable.

- A USB-A cable is connected from the docking station to another USB-A cable, which is then connected to my laptop.

- Since the M4 Mac mini lacks a USB-A port, I purchased a USB-C male to USB-A female adapter, assuming it would be compatible since it worked perfectly with my laptop.

Occasionally, I’ll use my laptop with both monitors which will require to disconnect the cable from the docking station to my Mac. My goal is to set up a dual-monitor configuration with just one disconnection / reconnection from my docking station to keep things simple.
