Notes Stuck on the Folders Page

Out of nowhere when I opened my notes app today it showed the folders page, with no folders or notes. I attempted to access some of my notes but was unable to do so. I can make a new note but after creating it, it disappears.

I have a mac and I am able to see all my previous notes on my computer- so I know they are not deleted.

I use my notes app a lot on my phone and I would like to get them back.

Extra information that I have seen helpful for others- I have an iPhone 14, IOS 17.6.1 (the most updated), I still have storage in my iCloud, I have restarted my phone
