Apple Pay transaction automation does not trigger if you choose a specific category
If you choose a specific category for Apple Pay transaction automation like “food & drinks”, it never triggers.
However, if your automation is set for all categories, it will trigger fine.
since the category of the transaction is something obtained from Apple Maps, my suspicion is that this but is because Apple Maps cannot return the category data fast enough when the automation is being evaluated.
the automation is likely checking the category, maps still hasn’t retrieved it yet, and then does not execute because maps couldn’t return that data in time for the automation check.
Either include the category in the transaction data type in shortcuts, allow enough time for Maps to return category data before running automation, or allow us to somehow retroactively grab the category of business from a Maps location in the Maps shortcut options.
