My LG tv is asking for a four digit passcode to sync my AirPods.

AirPods use a pairing protocol without pairing codes, so if your tv is adding for a code to be put in, it can be that your AirPods are not compatible with your TV
I use an Apple TV as in between in order to use my AirPods with my TV
