Mac OSX - Safari - Stop generating passwords automatically

How do you configure Safari to not auto-create new passwords yet keep the auto-populate feature work?

Some of us use password managers because we work in multi-platform environments and using password management via iCloud is not an option. I want to continue to use my password management utilities (1 personal and 1 required by work) and have those managers continue to work with browsers/applications.

AutoFill Passwords and Passkeys

Automatically suggest passwords, passkeys and verification cosed when signing into apps and websites.

NEEDS to have the generated passwords (suggested new password) function turned into a separate on/off button.

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 14.7
