Repeatedly logged out of iMessages

For the last few weeks, I've been sending political messages to encourage people to vote. Some time between 8 and 9 pm ET last night, a little while after I'd stopped texting, I was logged out of messages and haven't been able to log back in since, on either my phone or laptop. That is, I can log in momentarily, and then I'm immediately logged out again. Perhaps I inadvertently texted too much yesterday and violated a policy, thereby getting thrown in Apple jail? I didn't get a text or email telling me that, so I'm not sure. How can I figure out if that's what's going on, and if so, get out of jail?
