Recently returned from Europe after taking numerous photos while in UK. Phone was on local time while there. Now I notice after image import to IMac, timestamp is off on all photos by 6 hours.
Hasnt Apple figured out a way to keep photos showing time captured instead of showing local time offset??

so I decided to look at the photo time on my mbp vs iPhone. The mbp has the correct time vs iPhone which is off by 6 hours.

I did have to air drop these images to computer to reduce file size for upload. but the times showing are what I see.
The time that shows on the photos when viewing in photos app on mbp. Photos were not edited, just taken on iPhone and imported to computer using image capture then synced to devices. All photos show off time by 6 hours.
iPhone was only time device I used on trip and always displayed correct local UK time. Hard for me to imagine one has to go somewhere in settings to apply correct time for photos or that basic timekeeping for photos is not required for iOS.
hmm ... there are some variables regarding the workflow and how images are routed and imported. For example, changing the computer to another time zone preserves the time and time zone in the previously imported images.
When you are using iCloud Photos to sync the photos from your ipHone to your Mac, the timezones will be correct, also, when you import them to your computer, while you are in the same timezone where the photos have been taken.
Where and what timestamp are you looking -- internal EXIF timestamp via some image editing app or filesystem file timestamps in Finder?
So it seems the time zone was incorrectly set or somehow incorrectly obtained from the mobile network or GPS when the images were taken.
Both of my devices are currently in the same time zone, yet times showing are not correct. I would think the time the photo is taken is the time it’s taken and that’s what’s suppose to be display.
So photos time displayed changes according to time zone of where an import is done ??
