Is the Siri/Apple Intelligence icon in the menubar by default in a freshly installed macOS, or does it have to be manually added?

Siri in the menu bar appeared automatically when I turned Siri on after updating to MacOS 15.1.
it's weird that it didn't for me. So I want to know what it is Apple does by default :/
