Stage Manager customize option not found in System Settings

Trying out Stage Manager for the first time on my Mac Book Air and while I can turn it on and off, in System Settings there is no customize button as I see in online tutorials. Why is it missing?

I think I have figured it out.


I had been reading this webpage: https://geekchamp.com/how-to-enable-and-use-stage-manager-on-mac/ which was from 2022.


An image is attached from that page showing a customize button. This looks different than what I see. It lacks the Show recent apps in Stage Manager and Show windows from an application fields.



When clicking on the Customize button is selected, those fields appear in a popup as seen below.



I assume this was changed at some point between the original drop of Sonoma and version 14.7 which is what I installed when upgrading from Monterey (I skipped over Ventura).
