My Music Library includes tracks that purchased from Apple and tracks that I uploaded from my CD collections. I am unable to download the tracks that I uploaded. I should be able put those tracks on my hard drive. The cloud icon does nothing. Why can I not access and download that music?

I did upload them on to my hard drive when was using iTunes. I do subscribe to apple music. A screenshot of my library is attached. It looks the same on my Mac and iPhone. The tracks appeared but most songs are not highlighted (light gray).

Can you give more details. When you imported your CDs they should have been added to your hard drive?
Do you subscribe to Apple Music or iTunes Match? If so, was the music added to your iCloud Music library?
