Air Pod Pro distortion

Hi. My APP are clean, charged and updated. On my iPhone, or my own copies of Teams or Zoom on my MBA or Mac Studio, sounds as good as ever, no issues.

But connected to Teams or Zoom on a virtual desktop, the sound is sometimes like that of a drunk Wookie (Star Wars reference). Video is fine, so not all of the content is being mucked up. Sometimes it is fine, but because using the MBA audio introduces feedback, I usually try to use the APP first, so if I hear an unintelligible low frequency drawl, have to come out and go back in without.

Problem with the virtual desktop, obvs, but I don't have any choice but to use it, so any workarounds?
