Hi folks. I need to sum the category, where each category have it's value. Screens below as example, first (b1:b2) is list what I need to sum:
second is value of categories (A is category, B is Value):
So I need sum from first image B1+B2 like it's equal to 20 from second image
Table 1 and 2 are the two tables from your post.
Table 3::B2 =COUNTIF(Table 1::B,A2)×XLOOKUP(A2,Table 2::A,Table 2::B,"NF",0)
The "NF" is what XLOOKUP function will return if the category is not found in Table 2. The result of the formula will be an error due to multiplying a number by a string.
I don't know if I understood correctly what you need.
One possibility is this:
In table 1 there are 3 columns that B Type is formatted with Pop-Up-Menus, that C takes the value with SWITCH
In Table 3 cell A2 is formatted with Pop-Up-Menus so you can choose the category you want every time, while in cell B2 the value is added according to the choice you make in A2 using SUMIF
