Logic V11.0.1: 5.1 files are displayed as a stereo clip: L/R waveforms appear on screen - how can I see the rest of the channels?

Handling multi-channel files in Logic is not very intuitive, to say the least.

The arrangement window displays 5.1 files as if they were stereo files, with a little icon indicating a higher channel count. In former Logic versions that was different - as I noticed.

When confronted with this I cannot tell from the waveform what happens in which channel. Also can I not cleave the multi-channel file into its individual mono components, neither by dragging it from the finder nor by importing it with any of the commands I found in Logic.

Is there someone around having any idea how to achieve that? None of the solutions described here in earlier, similar posts lead to a successful result.

Unfortunately I have to go to ProTools to achieve this and re-import. That is not a pleasant workflow.

Any help much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
