Echo on quicktime videos

Is there any way to remove this awful echo from the quicktime video I just made? I've now read that I needed to turn the volume down in the app while recording, and up on the computer, but ok, what can I do after the fact?

Echo is extremely difficult to filter out. You can try an audio processing app with Dereverberation function. YMMV.

Best results may come from re-recording with headphones or earbuds, so that the mic doesn’t pick up any sound output from the main speakers.

The room itself shouldn’t produce echos either.
