Hi Group!
I just purchased a 2023 Mac Studio M2 and replaced my 2020 Imac. I opened final cut pro, and I'm getting the spinning beachball every few seconds and I'm not sure what to do, FCP is running very slow too and opens very slow. I was having issues with my other Imac not running FCP well, which is why I upgraded. I'm running the latest FCP version 10.8.1. and Mac Sonoma 14.6.
Any help would be most appreciated!

First thing to do is getting rid of this.
I see that you have Paragon software to support NTFS drives. This is from 2016, apparently. I suppose you are not using with the current OS, and this should either be updated (only if you really need it), or uninstalled.
Citrix is from 2017.
All this old software is of course made for intel, and could be bogging down your system, and you probably are not even using it.
WAIT! You also have Chrome and its EVIL "keystone" agents. These cripple FCP by hogging the system viodeotoolbox. See https://chromeisbad.com for an explanation.

Let me guess: you migrated everything from the old mac to the new one, right?
You probably brought along old stuff that does not work correctly in the new system and/or architecture.

One important lesson to learn from this is that computer problems are rarely solved by throwing money at them.
When things don't work as well as expected it's usually due to user error or a minor correction to the way the computer is set up.

I updated the OS to the latest, tried FCP again, still beach balling every few seconds. This is the most frustrating thing in the world, as I have a project that is due!
