Music - Live updating features removed - Why?

I've been using the Apple Music app on my Mac for many years, including back when it was known as iTunes. All that time, I've had playlists with "Live update" enabled. The rules for my playlists include "Last played is before {some date}". If I set "some date" to the current date, all songs in the playlist are shown. Then, as I play the playlist, each song disappears when it finishes. That way, when I come back the next day, I only see the remaining songs I haven't listened to yet. Eventually, all songs are off the list, so I go to another playlist and do the same thing. When I get back to the first playlist, I reset "some date" to the current date again, and the process starts all over. The result is that I go through all the songs in all my playlists without repeating any of them.

In recent months, no doubt after some update, the Music app is no longer respecting the "Last played" rule. I can't understand why that feature would be removed. Please, please, PLEASE put it back!
