Tread via Home Kit device connection instability

I bought two new Apple TV 4Ks that are both thread compatible. I also bought about a dozen Matter (Thread) window shades. I’ve been able to pair all of the shades to Home Kit, but randomly various shades across the house fall into “updating” or “not responding” status. all devices are fully charged. I’ve tried re-pairing them to home kit and can get them working, but the connection status seems very unstable. I’m sure the shade company will blame the problem on my Apple TV, of course

and I have no way to prove whether the problem is on the HomeKit hub side or the device side. All I can say is that the reliability of thread device stability via HomeKit is very poor and not living up to my expectations for this home automation solution. I’m hopeful that Apple will be updating the Apple TV firmware to better maintain stable solutions with devices before I have to resort to switching ecosystems, which I do not want to do
