How to locate a lost AirTag?

Since you can still see this AirTag in the Find My app, it means that it is still associated with your Apple ID. Should someone find it, even if they try resetting it, they will not be able to disassociate it from your ID ... therefore, they can use it to track anyone.

Unless you placed it in "Lost Mode" AND provided contact information, there is no way they could locate you with it.

if you can still locate it, it would mean they would only be able to use it as it informing it that a foreign airtag was traveling with them to inform of a possible stalking situation.
