Apple Intelligence on iPhone 14 why isn’t it there?

I want the iPhone 14 to have the Apple Intelligence, but it’s just not there. Why won’t Apple put it on iPhone 14? I have to go buy a new iPhone Thanks Apple

Because Apple Intelligence requires a phone with 8GB of RAM, which no phones except iPhone 15 Pro/15 Pro Max and all iPhone 16 models have. Your phone doesn't have the RAM, thus it simply cannot support Apple Intelligence. If you want an iPhone with Apple Intelligence, Apple will take your phone in trade or you can sell it privately and use the trade or sale money towards an iPhone which has the processing power to run Apple Intelligence.

Your phone does everything today, it did when it was new. Apple never suggested older models would get all new features and in fact they specifically suggest not all new features will work on all devices capable of running iOS 18. Expecting a two year old iPhone to be able to run the newest features, when the phone doesn't have the hardware required is just not going to happen.

Let's get even more specific and use a real world example of the S24 vs the S22. In just two short years, I was able to find the following and the biggest difference is completely applicable to this discussion:

S24 vs S22 Features

The Samsung Galaxy S24 offers several advanced features that the Galaxy S22 does not have:

  • Galaxy AI: The S24 includes a range of AI-driven features such as Circle to Search, which allows users to search for objects by circling them on the screen, and Conversational Search, which provides detailed answers to voice queries. The S22 does not have these AI capabilities.
  • Adaptive Color Tone: The S24 introduces Adaptive Color Tone, a feature similar to Apple’s True Tone, which adjusts the screen’s color and white balance based on lighting conditions to provide a more natural viewing experience. The S22 lacks this feature.
  • Improved Display Brightness: The S24’s display can reach up to 2,600 nits of peak brightness, while the S22’s display peaks at 1,300 nits. This makes the S24’s screen much brighter and more vivid.
  • Enhanced Camera Software Features: The S24 has more sophisticated AI-based camera features, including Edit Suggestion, Generative Edit, and Instant Slow-mo, which allow for more advanced photo and video editing. The S22 does not have these features.
  • 12MP Selfie Camera: The S24 has a 12MP front-facing camera, while the S22 has a 10MP camera. This provides better quality in selfies and video calls.
  • Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 or Exynos 2400 Chipset: The S24 uses the latest chipset, which offers significant performance improvements over the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 or Exynos 2200 used in the S22.
  • One UI 6.1: The S24 runs on One UI 6.1, which includes additional AI features and improvements over the One UI 4.1 that the S22 uses.
  • Larger Battery: The S24 has a 4,000 mAh battery, compared to the 3,700 mAh battery in the S22, providing better battery life and performance.
  • 1-120Hz Adaptive Refresh Rate: The S24 supports an adaptive refresh rate from 1 to 120Hz, whereas the S22 is limited to 48-120Hz.

I use an iPhone 11 for work and an iPhone 16 for personal. The only noticeable difference is the Siri glow. Apple intelligence didn’t change anything at all. There’s arguably less Siri features than there was before the “update”. You’re not missing anything at all from not have Apple intelligence. It literally does nothing to the iPhone.

That's certainly your opinion. I love what Apple Intelligence has brought to me. I love Visual Intelligence. Siri is greatly enhanced with the ChatGPT extension. Image Playground is fun. Genmoji, let's me create my own emoji's and save them for future use. Writing tools have helped me a lot. Is it earthshaking? No. Are the Apple Intelligence features ones which do more than not having them, YES. And Apple Intelligence features aren't yet complete. More features will come as they go through testing.

I deliberately limited my search for a used iPhone to the 14 Pro Max to get the best phone possible, that could not be influenced by Apple “intelligence”. The only thing I regret it not having is the USB-C port for high speed video support.

My iPad Pro is trying to be “intelligent”, but I am holding it to iOS 17.

You can certainly hold your iPad Pro to iOS 17, and miss critical security updates intended to keep you and your data safe, but it isn't the best approach. Are you not aware that Apple Intelligence is OPT-IN only? If you don't want to use Apple Intelligence on any device, simply don't sign in to it. It won't download, it won't be usable. You won't have access to the cleanup tool in photos. You won't get Genmoji or Image Playground. You won't have a more intelligent Siri or extension to ChatGPT, nor be able to use the Writing Tools. That's entirely your choice. But you also won't be as safe on your device.

Do as you want, but sometimes, cutting off your nose to spite your face isn't the best approach.

Then apple should have made it with better everything💀

Surprise! This is a little thing called technology that advances every year. The phone you purchase today won't even have the same capabilities of one purchased 2 years from now. It has been that way since the introduction of the very first computer and will continue far into the future. Hang on, the technology train makes no stops.

Guess I’ll buy a Samsung or Motorola or Google pixel next time I need a phone

None of us really care what phone you purchase next time and would always suggest to get the one that best meets your needs. Whether that is an Android or iPhone, make sure it is the latest model, since even the older Android phones don't support all the features found in the latest OS version.

It has always been the case that Software outpaces Hardware and it will continue to be that way well into the future.

I don't think they really thought that argument through. If they had they would have realized that the same thing happens on all devices. Of course we could also post links from the Android support site from users wishing they would have bought an iPhone, but they will figure it out.

NO. The "I'll show them" knee jerk response wasn't thought through too well!
