Apple Intelligence on iPhone 14 why isn’t it there?
I want the iPhone 14 to have the Apple Intelligence, but it’s just not there. Why won’t Apple put it on iPhone 14? I have to go buy a new iPhone Thanks Apple

Because Apple Intelligence requires a phone with 8GB of RAM, which no phones except iPhone 15 Pro/15 Pro Max and all iPhone 16 models have. Your phone doesn't have the RAM, thus it simply cannot support Apple Intelligence. If you want an iPhone with Apple Intelligence, Apple will take your phone in trade or you can sell it privately and use the trade or sale money towards an iPhone which has the processing power to run Apple Intelligence.
Your phone does everything today, it did when it was new. Apple never suggested older models would get all new features and in fact they specifically suggest not all new features will work on all devices capable of running iOS 18. Expecting a two year old iPhone to be able to run the newest features, when the phone doesn't have the hardware required is just not going to happen.

Apple Intelligence requires a minimum of iPhone 15 Pro (and pro max), iPhone 16, or iPhone 16 Pro (and pro max).
That was explained to the original poster in the first response to this thread on October 30th (and on every page since).
You may want to change the sort order of threads so that the sort from oldest to newest. That way, you'll be able to tell if the answer you're thinking of posting has already been given. It will give you more time to answer questions where people haven't already been helped.

Mark ~ No. See:

What I find frustrating is that many features in iOS 26 and Apple Intelligence that require an iPhone 15 or newer have been available for years on my Pixel 3a (from 2019!) and other very old, less powerful devices such as my Galaxy Tab S4, and also in 3rd party apps on my iPhone 14 Pro.

To answer OP’s question, it’s because Apple could have chosen to implement the features for older iPhones, but chose not to. Part of their reasoning probably was performance and user experience, and part of it probably was to encourage people to buy newer iPhones. Apple has an interest in doing so.
because your iPhone doesn't have the required RAM to run Apple Intelligence

Then buy an iPhone which supports Apple Intelligence. That means the following models:
iPhone 15 Pro
iPhone 15 Pro Max
Any iPhone 16 Model, including the newly released iPhone 16 E

Hello Apple Intelligence i need new siri. Update i phone 14 pro
Sorry, but iPhone 14 Pro lacks the hardware required for Apple Intelligence. If you want Apple Intelligence, you need to buy a phone which is capable of Apple Intelligence, which is iPhone 15 Pro/15 Pro Max (Both discontinued), Any iPhone 16 model (most are also now discontinued) or any of the just released iPhone 17 models.
Apple intelligence is only available on the iPhone 15 pro/max, and 16 series.
You need to recall that iPhone CPU has integrated memory. It is not strictly processing power but also memory issue. LLMs require quite some memory space to run efficiently.
For those users that claim to have seen Apple Intelligence on the iPhone 14 on various Youtube channels, take note that what has been found is the exact reason why it is not available. That device only has 3GB of memory and less GPU cores where you see the results as:
You should be thanking Apple for not crippling the iPhone 14 with this update. You would then expect those complaints filling these supports sites along with the same ridiculous accusations along the lines of this: "Apple update slowed my phone down and now has poor battery like. They forced this on our iPhone 14 to make us upgrade to a new phone".
You could literally say this about anything. My PS5 can’t run 4k games at 60fps (hardware limitation). You’re telling me I have upgrade to the pro model? Thanks Sony. I have to buy a new router to support the fastest internet speeds? Thanks Xfinity!
it’s been the reality of the software/hardware relationship since the beginning of time my guy…

Why can the ChatGPT app run fine on a 14? I pay for pro and the app is fine. Apple being Apple I suppose.
The ChatGPT app can run just fine on an iPhone 14. Apple doesn't own ChatGPT. But don't confuse the integration of ChatGPT into Apple Intelligence, which requires on device processing, with the ChatGPT app, which does not.

Help you do what? If you want Apple Intelligence on an iPhone 14, that's not an option.
If you have another question, unrelated to the original post in this thread, please start your own thread. Give it a properly descriptive title. Explain what you're trying to accomplish, what happens when you try and what troubleshooting steps you've already take.

The iPhone 14 does not support Apple intelligence.

Francisco ~ Apple is unlikely to see your "Thanks" in this user-to-user community. Use this form:

I am sorry if you knew this, but on iPhones the RAM is built in the CPU. So there is no way to add more RAM without upgrading the CPU. And the reason for that is speed. The closer the RAM is to CPU the faster (and more efficient) the memory becomes.
Thus what you are asking is exactly what Apple did, they made a new phone with more RAM (and CPU and ...).
