I have made an iMovie from photos added music but it will not download onto QuickTime says-(avconvert: unable to read file:///Users/paulanderson/Desktop/My%20Movie%203-test.mp4)
file is 45minutes is this too big?

When you used iMovie, did you specify that it be saved as a file(share) on your desk top? If so, then simply open the completed file with quicktime, and it should work. That is what I did when I was running Monterey.
You can also open it in QuickLook(right click over the file and you will see QuickLook there.). As to Ken Burns, that is something that is part of your iMovie. When I make a movie, I have to turn that on and off in the cropping menu for each selected piece of the movie. On my movies it's not automatic. I am using iMovie version 10.4.2

Clicking "Fit" from the crop menu controls, and then clicking on the blue reset button to the right, will remove the Ken Burns effect only from the clip that has been selected. You can select all the clips as a group and use the same procedure to remove the Ken Burns effect from all clips.
Before you start a project, you can go to iMovie/Preferences and set the Photo Placement to "Fit", and that will set the default to "Fit" and eliminate any Ken Burns effect for all projects created after the preference changed.

but then I encoded file control click as I opened file on desktop as that I was told previously to do
oh bugger just tried it again and it opened played in QuickTime.... but with that f...ing ken burns that I don't want and have changed it lots of time in iMovie project.... anybody know if this is corrupted as its not recognising the change from ken burns to fill. Don't tell me I have to start again please :(
I am using same version but when I click on off ken burns it makes no difference, surely it affect the whole movie project not each frame I click on it to fit but it just ignores me and stays with ken f...ing burns!
No didn't work, may got rid of burn but.... Did what you said got file onto desktop after saving as high, did control click on mp4 file, code selected video files, double clicked on file, encode media box/setting H264 480p Format H264/AAC Resolution 640x480, pressed continue, said can't be opened, not compatible with Quicktime!!!
Got me. Have you tried re-installing iMovie? It should not work that way.
Oh no, surely if I re-install I lose all that hard work... took me forever to get to this stage
Rich, You sir are a scholar and a gentleman, this sounds as though your fix will work. I will try it out tonight later or tomorrow -thanks soooo much. Ken Burns should be shot at birth-its horrible!
