AppleScript libraries for Pages and Word seemingly not available

It's years since I did anything in AppleScript so please bear with me. In Script Editor I should be able to access an application's AppleScript Library through Window > Library. And for any application where I don't need access, that works fine. But when I choose Pages nothing happens, i.e. its library doesn't open. And with Word (which is installed), its library doesn't even appear on the list of application libraries.

Any ideas?

With Script Editor, you need an open Script Editor window before you select File > Open Dictionary… > Pages. Otherwise, without an existing Script Editor window present, no application scripting dictionary will appear.

Also, once that initial Scripting Dictionary window is open, then you can alternatively select Window > Library and then double-click the application name from the floating Library palette to open its scripting dictionary.

Something I just noticed is that if an application is missing on the Windows > Library panel when it is opened, you click the + symbol on that panel's toolbar. That will open a File Chooser on the Applications window and you simply select the missing application and then click Open to add it to the panel. Then the scripting definition display is available by double-clicking that Library panel's application entry.

So, the application can be missing from that Library panel, but not from the File > Open Dictionary… listing as that is obtained from the installed application's scripting dictionary plumbed from inside the application bundle.

And this morning, a day after updating to Sequoia v15.1, I noticed that although Pages appears among the listings on an Open Dictionary panel, I cannot open that Pages scripting dictionary by any means from this panel. No error dialog, just nothing. I have sent a bug report to the Pages product team, though potentially, it could be a macOS issue too.

Ironically, I can open the Pages scripting dictionary using the third-party Script Debugger v8.

An update, albeit delayed by life's distractions. All is now as should be … even in 15.1 and without trying Script Debugger. To get the Pages dictionary to appear I deleted it from the Open Dictionary window and then added it back. As previously mentioned with Word, which wasn't appearing in the Library list, I simply added it. Simple! Thanks very much, VikingOSX.
