MBP 2019 Intel - Sequoia 15.1 shutting down

Why is that every day, and now many times throughout the day, my laptop is shutting down?

I turn it on, check a few things, leave it on locked or sleep, then a few hours after it shutdown when I try to use it.

Every time it says the system stopped working.

I have a 2018 quad i5 MBP on Sequoia 15.0.1 w the same issue.

I have NordVPN installed too, but am not actively using it most of the time, and the same is true; no issues on 14.6.1, but started immediately after updating to 15.0.1

I came here hoping to see that 15.1 resolves the issue, not that VPNs might be the culprit; MacOS VPN software has always been a toy offering compared to paid VPN clients...

We need to see what all is running, a report from this will not display any personal info...

Using EtreCheck - Apple Community

EtreCheck is a FREE simple little diagnostic tool to display the important details of your system configuration and allow you to copy that information to the Clipboard. It is meant to be used with Apple Support Communities to help people help you with your Mac. It will not display any personal info. Give it Full Disk Access.

Give etrecheck Full Disk Access before running.

Thanks for Old Toad’s etrecheck instructions…

Start Over from Scratch

Once this type of software is installed and embedded into the computer > > MacKeeper

You can spend hours or days hunting down all the bits and pieces of this software and never really get it all off the computer

For Apple Silicon computer >> Use Disk Utility to erase a Mac with Apple silicon.

For Apple Intel computers >>   Use Disk Utility to erase an Intel-based Mac followed by How to reinstall macOS

Always make a Time Machine Backup  before  proceeding

If going this route - I suggest Not using Startup Assist to migrate everything back.

This will probably Re-Introduce ( MacKeeper ) back into the Operating System

I have uninstalled the NordVPN and mackeeper to try it out, and I still have the same issues.

I put the laptop to sleep, and minutes later the laptop shuts down due to malfunction.

I wonder if this happens because the laptop is connected to external monitors and power plug.

Let me try doing the same but keeping the laptop lid open and no external monitors or power supply.
