"Command x" does not work (no cut action)

Command c / command v do work for copy and paste

Command x has not been assigned to another action or app in the keyboard settings

(Thus) there are no visible conflicts

Also after restart

Mac mini M1, MacOS 14.6.1

I hope someone has an idea on how to solve this! Thanks

Apple did not invite Microsoft to co-develop Finder and thus, cmd+x is not supported for filesystem activity. If you want to move a file between locations then you initially copy it, and at the destination, you have a choice of option+cmd+v or press the option key and right-click to bring up the secondary Finder menu where you will find move is present.

If you want to remove a file, you can right-click on it and select Move to Trash.
