Has anyone figured this out yet? My auto lock is set to 30 seconds, raise to wake is off, always on display is off. I even turned off the require screen on for camera option and restarted the phone. This has got progressively worse over the last week to the point the screen will not turn off unless I manually lock it. The last idea I have is to completely reset the phone and I’d prefer not to do that if I don’t have to.

Lawrence Finch I don’t know where you’re getting the idea this issue has been resolved because looking at comments from the last couple weeks, it doesn’t appear it has been. Unless I’m missing something, I haven’t seen a suggestion on here that has been noted by several people as far as resolving the problem. Please point me to the resolution that has worked.

Sorry, Lawrence…I get that you’re trying to be helpful but you’re absolutely not when you ignore those of us saying (even 6 months later) that the issue is still unresolved.

I’m new to the conversation and here is what I have found. I know where to turn the feature off; that’s easy to find and toggle. The problem is that it keeps toggling itself back on. Got a solution for that? I do hope it’s better than “keep toggling it back off and stop responding to an already answered thread.”

To be more specific, I just discovered this morning that when I connect to the phone’s hotspot from my MacBook (initiated from the MacBook while the phone is locked and sitting on the desk or in my pocket), it seems to also turn the ‘always on display’ back on, and this is at least one of the reasons why I’m finding it to be a recurring issue. It’s the only specific trigger I have identified so far but I’ve only had the new phone for 5 days so far (16 Pro Max). This never happened on my 12 Pro Max which probably didn’t have the same option but it was set to never lock and did that flawlessly for me.

If anyone has an actual recommendation or knowledge on how to resolve this, I’d appreciate your thoughts. If nothing else, maybe someone else can test this on their end and confirm.

At the least, it may cast some light on the mystery behind the feature randomly showing back up for other users. Hope this helps!

Try rebooting your iPhone first quickly press the upper volume button and second the lower volume button (don’t press the both buttons on the same time) and press and hold power button until it shows apple logo on the screen. This will fix

Did you notice you just responded to a 6 month old post? And that the problem had been resolved months ago?

I’ve tried everything on this list without luck. I was hoping the last update would fix this, but clearly it did not. I think at this point I’m just going to have to take it into Apple and have them look at it. Until then, I’ll just continue to manually lock it every time I’m done using it.
