No location suggestions when creating a calendar event

On iOS 18.0.1 using the Calendar, I'm no longer getting location suggestions when entering calendar events, neither on cellular nor wifi. This worked for me in the past and I'm not sure what changed.

I create an event, then tap the location field and start entering anything--street address, name of a business, etc--but no map suggestions come up at all.

I’ve checked locations settings, map settings, calendar settings and looked in various menus on the privacy settings, to no avail.
